Forestry project2
1The plantations of the Agricultural project of Carbone boréal aim to reforest portions of agricultural wasteland impossible to cultivate. This project comes from a collaboration between Carbone Boréal and the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ). The tree species that can be planted in agricultural land are varied and open up new research perspectives on adaptation to climate change and agroforestry. The compensation with the Agricultural project is offered in exchange of a donation of $ 6 per tree or $ 42 per tonne of CO2 and includes a method of compensation to farmers of $ 1 per tree.2The plantations of the General project of Carbone boréal are carried out on open woodlands of the boreal forest in the north of the Lac-St-Jean. These are public lands protected by the Experimental Forests statute, in collaboration with the Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec (MFFP). The trees planted are forest species provided by the MFFP. The compensation with the General project is offered in exchange of a donation of $ 6 per tree or $ 42 per tonne of CO2.
