In addition to new tree plantations on agricultural lands and a new project on windbreaks carbon sequestration, membres of Carbone boréal’s research team is hard at work in the field. Braving black flies and the weather, they are collecting data on several plantations in order to: quantify natural regeneration due to soil scarification, follow up on planted trees after 10 years, clarify carbon capture after 20 years and take many more measurements that will help us in better understanding how forests and trees contribute to the fight against climate change. Much thanks to the researchers, professionals and students whose efforts push science forward.
